Happy Birthday to Karen

You no longer have cute little drool on your lip when you smile but you are still just as adorable. I love you, baby girl.

Buzz Lightyear flies in my backyard

Seth decided he needed Buzz Lightyear wings so he and Karen came over last night and we made some with cardstock, cardboard and packing tape. His are not a perfect match but the colors look close. Don't know how long they'll last but they looked good when he left. LOL

February Design Team Layouts

This month's kit was full of papers and embellishments from Little Yellow Bicycle Zach's Life collection. These are papers and things I probably would never have picked for myself but I am pleased with what I did with them. I have a few more that I have planned but wanted to share these. Jill is adding new stuff often at Memorable Seasons as she receives the fun stuff Chrissy ordered from CHA.

My first paid photo shoot

I was asked to take pictures at a sweet sixteen party by the young lady's grandmother. It was a semi formal party with a DJ and dancing. These kids were so cute. It was fun to remember my girls at that age. They want to be grown up but they are still such little kids at heart. Loved hearing the girls squeal and giggle and laugh and sing to the music. The boys didn't squeal but they were just as adorable. Here are just a few of the pictures. I have only edited about half of them. The lighting was so bad in there that I don't feel right giving her the pictures without trying to fix them, first.

Loved these shoes!
With her brothers, one older, one younger.

She's been dancing, so the hair has been tied up and the tiara long gone. LOL

For us

Today I have two. The first is special because Curtis gave me a plaque with these words on it as a gift when we still dating. It still hangs in our hallway as a reminder every day. It is also special because it can be found in a special book, the Bible. It is read at many wedding ceremonies and it contains valuable advice. However, it does not apply to just romantic love. It is a guide for loving all of God's people. I still love this guy after all these years. In fact, I love him more every day. He never fails to make me feel special even when he is doing his best to annoy me!
If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing symbol. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails.

I Corinthians 13

"Love one another and you will be happy. It's as simple and as difficult as that."
~Michael Leunig

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. I will post the picture of the RAK tomorrow. I will give everyone till Wednesday to comment on one of my love quotes from the past week and I will draw one random winner.

Love you all,

For Curtis

“When you smiled you had my undivided attention. When you laughed you had my urge to laugh with you. When you cried you had my urge to hold you. When you said you loved me, you had my heart forever.”

For the guy who holds my heart

“The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.”

Jalal ad-Din Rumi

For all of you

“Spread love everywhere you go: First of all in your own house... let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness.”

Quotes to count down to Valentine's day

Those of you who follow my blog know that I am a quote junkie. I love finding special ones and sharing them with you. Every day until Valentine's day, I plan to share some special love quotes with you. Each one will be dedicated to someone special to me.

Everyone who comments on these posts will be entered into a special love themed scrappy RAK that I will be putting together this week. I will post a photo when I have it all together.

Winner of my RAK

I only had one entrant but that is okay cause she had an awesome list and she even used one of mine! Love that. So, Dalis, email me your address.

Here is her list

What I'm For

Pat Green has a new song on the radio that really speaks to me. I've listened to it over and over. You can hear it here and read the lyrics here.

From the first time I heard it, I've been thinking about making my own list, so here it is.

What I'm for:
  1. giving all babies the chance to be born
  2. the sweet sound of little girls giggling ( and big ones, too)
  3. respecting those who've lived longer than I have
  4. saying "I love you" even when it is an effort
  5. giving children the opportunity to make their own decisions
  6. and sometimes their own mistakes
  7. and letting them spread their wings
  8. smiles and laughter even when life gets hard
  9. taking lots of pictures
  10. giving lots of hugs
  11. reading for fun and for knowledge
  12. the way "grandma" sounds to my ear
  13. old fashioned black licorice
  14. dinner out on Sunday night
  15. a man who still gives me butterflies when he looks at me
  16. and a love that lasts forever and always
Have you got a list? Put one up on your blog and link it back to here so I can read it. On Feb 7, I will draw a random name to win this Cuttlebug embossing folder.
